The Year My Body Said, "Nah"
A behind-the-scenes of the chaos, healing, and caffine-fueled survival that got me here.

It Can Be Hard To Slow Down In The Busy World
If you've been wondering where I've been, why the shop shifted to being more online, or why my responses sometimes came with a delay and a side of chaos...this is why.

The last year has been a wild mix of ear infections (otomycosis in both ears--yes both), PMDD, ADHD med issues, vitamin deficiencies, IBS, burnout and a whole lot of "pushing through" because, well, I'm a mom of four and I run this entire business alone.
For a good chunk of 2024, I felt like I was running on fumes. I was constantly sick, my sleep was wrecked (thanks hormones), and I couldn't hear properly for months. Every time I thought I was getting better, something else would knock me flat again. And when you're already trying to juggle mom life, school meetings, meals for picky eaters, and running a small business alone...it's a lot.
I didn't rest because I didn't think I could. But spooiler: if you don't slow down, your body will eventually make you. And mine did. Hard.
So I made some big changes . I took a step back from the physical shop, cut back on store hours, prioritized my health, and finally started allowing myself to recover - for real. I'm now on a cocktail of vitamins, actual medication that mostly works ( except when my hormones hijack it), and slowly re-teaching myself how to do less. Which is weirdly hard.
This store has always been more than a business - it's been my creative outlet, my " I can do this" after hard seasons, and a way to build something for my kids. And while this last year nearly broke me, it also reminded me why I started in the first place.
So if you've stuck around, supported me, messaged me, or bought something from the shop during
this time - thank you. Truly.
I've got some new things coming, and a bit more energy to pour into them now. But I'll be moving slower. Smarter. With more grace for myself. And probably still forgetting to eat lunch.
Stay tuned - and maybe drink some water. Your body will thank you.
Cheers,
Deanna
